Joanne Taylor playing peek a boo
After a decade of climbing up the Corporate Ladder, Joanne Taylor resigned from the IBM Corporation, climbed back down to earth, hung up her blue suit, put on her blue jeans, and started her personal gardening business, Taylor Gardens.  Her business has been nominated for the Merrill Lynch Entrepreneur of the Year Award.  Ms. Taylor is also a winner of both Blue and Red Ribbon awards in gardening contests sponsored by Philadelphia's Horticultural Society.  She has served as a judge for the Society's City Gardens Contest.  She has judged gardens along the streets of West Philadelphia where urban gardeners grow plants in old porcelain bathtubs, paint cans and old shoes.

Not only does Joanne provide gardening services for some of the most affluent clients located in the suburbs of Philadelphia, but she has also taught inner-city children for the Grow in Peace Program in Philadelphia. Joanne knows first hand  that people from all walks of life have a need to grow.

Gardening in the city
"As an award-winning gardener by both hobby and profession, I have had the privilege of being exposed to the things of nature on an almost daily basis. The outdoors became my office.
The Sky was the Ceiling
The sky represents my office ceiling. The trees represent the walls; dirt paths make up the hallways; evergreen
hedges serve as partitions; and my workspace is the garden itself. My executive chair is the ground; and my co-workers are the birds, bees, bugs, spiders, squirrels, snakes, and sometimes even wild peacocks. It was in the garden where I first discovered over sixty motivational lessons for living planted in nature.

After my first book, Down to Earth, and with so many life lessons found in the garden, I knew my next mission would be to step out of the flower beds, and out of the church, to climb higher ground by traveling west to visit some of the best classrooms nature has to offer in order to further examine, first hand, the wisdom that the Earth speaks."
